Big Unit gets 300th

Randy Johnson threw 6 innings Thursday in D.C in his quest to become the 24th member of the 300 win club. He left the game with a 2-1 lead and the Giants backed him up scoring 2 more runs and keeping the Nats from scoring. Giants reliever Brian Wilson picked up the save and got Johnson win 300.

Randy enters the 300 win club as the tallest member, the second oldest to reach 300, and the 6th left handed pitcher to win 300 games.

With the win tonight it looks like he has his spot in the Hall of Fame all locked up(without any reported uses of PED’s that is, you never know in this day and age in baseball.)

It looks as if Johnson will be the last pitcher to get 300 wins in a  long time so we should savor this moment, because chances are we won’t witness it again for a while.

Congrats to Randy.
